Melissa Rodriguez is IHRSA’s research manager. She is also an active, eight-year certified fitness professional. Her experience as a personal trainer and research specialist grants her effective and valuable insight into fitness consumer behavior and club operations. Prior to joining IHRSA, Rodriguez was a fitness and conditioning specialist for an elite personal training center in Boston, Massachusetts. Rodriguez received received her B.A. in English and B.A. in Biology from Atlantic Union College in Lancaster, Massachusetts, and her M.B.A. in Financial Management from La Sierra University in Riverside, California. Neil Schwartz is the Director of Business Development for the research division of the Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association, which is powered by Sports Marketing Surveys. He is frequently called on by leading manufacturers and trade associations to assist them in understanding American sports participation trends and what it means for the future growth of their respective sport. Scwhartz also works closely with the financial community and media to provide expert analysis and insights. He brings 12 plus years of experience in the field of marketing research specifically for the sports and sporting goods industries.
